Here’s a bit of a throwback to the summer of 2017 when I was Philmont Scout Ranches staff graphic designer. Over the summer one of my long term projects was to create a series of promotional visuals for 2019 registration. The concept that I came up with was a map of Philmont’s property with type inlayed. I decided to use geometric shapes inspired by the jagged rock found all over Philmont’s massive property. This included a bit of an easter egg for Philmont fanatics and staff who know the AOR map… Within every ad, the AOR in which the photo was taken is highlighted with one of the dominating colors from the photograph, taken by one of Philmont’s talented staff photographers. This is one of those projects that I will forever be proud of. It was really a great beautiful collaboration between photographer and designers and I think that it really showed in the final product!
